Biography

Born June 20, 1924 in the city of Tetyushi of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in a working class family. He lived in the city of Kirov. After graduating from incomplete secondary school in 1941, he entered the Kazan Aviation Technical School. With the outbreak of World War II, the school was transferred to an accelerated course of study, but not having had time to complete it, in October 1941 a cadet Khanzhin was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . Since March 1942, he fought on the Central , Stalingrad , Don , Stepnoy , 2nd and 1st Ukrainian fronts.

The platoon commander of the 38th Guards Rifle Regiment, Junior Lieutenant Khanzhin, distinguished himself when crossing the Dnieper . In October 1943, a Khanzhin platoon under heavy enemy fire in three boats landed on the right bank of the Dnieper. Freeing the island of Pushkarevsky, Khanzhin with a platoon of 24 soldiers entered into hand-to-hand combat with the enemy on the shore in the area of ​​Rechishcha, personally destroying 5 Nazis [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 20, 1943, for successfully crossing the Dnieper River, firmly securing the bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper River, and showing courage and heroism of the guard, Junior Lieutenant Khanzhin Pavel Semenovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal The Star ” [1] .

In the battles of the Berlin operation for the city of Muskau on April 16, 1945, an intelligence officer of the guard, Lieutenant Hanzhin, personally captured 7 German soldiers. On April 19, in the battles for the city of Weiswaser, Hanjin organized reconnaissance behind enemy lines, while capturing 14 Nazis. For these military merits, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree [2] .

After the war he continued his service. In 1971, Colonel Hanzhin retired. He lived in Dushanbe . He worked as an engineer at a design institute.

He taught elementary military training in secondary school No. 58 of Dushanbe.

He died on October 15, 2007. He was buried in Dushanbe at the Russian cemetery.
