Qusayr Amra [1] or Qusayr Amra ( arab. قصير عمرة , often called Qasr Amra ) is a desert fortress located in eastern Jordan [2] .

It was built at the beginning of the 8th century (in the period between 723 and 743 years), at that time it was both a fortress and a residence of caliphs of the Umayyad dynasty . Nowadays, it is largely in a ruined state, however, elements of the bath (hammam) and a large number of frescoes [3] remain, which are examples of the secular art of medieval Muslim countries. Included in the number of UNESCO World Heritage sites .
