World Health Day ( in other official UN languages : Arabic World Health Day, Arabic يوم الصحة العالمي, Spanish Día Mundial de la Salud, Chinese 世界 卫生 日, French Journée mondiale de la santé ) - celebrated annually on April 7 since 1950 . On this day in 1948, the Constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO) entered into force.

The idea of World Health Day was put forward already at the first session of the World Health Assembly in 1948. But in 1948, this World Day was celebrated on July 22 , the day of ratification of the WHO Constitution.
WHO devotes every annual World Health Day to topics and conducts various outreach activities, both on this day and for a long time after April 7th. In particular, they are given attention by the UN Secretary-General and the Director-General of WHO in their annual messages on this day.

In Belarus in 2015, much attention was paid to this year's theme “Food Safety”. The "Approximate plan of measures for the preparation and holding of the World Health Day in the Republic of Belarus on April 7, 2015" [2] was adopted.
