The season is divided into story arches - fragments of the series, united by a common plot. Some story arches are an adaptation of the manga events depicted on the covers of various chapters.

| Going down the mountain of Reverse Mountain, the Straw Hat Pirates see a big barrier. The barrier is a gigantic whale. Since the ship’s nose is damaged in the process, Luffy punches the whale in the eye with anger and swallows the Going Merry, while Luffy manages to jump out of the mouth of the whale and reach its back. The whale sinks into the water, but Luffy finds a hatch on the back of the whale, where he descends. Meanwhile, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji find themselves in the belly of a whale, which is painted under the real sea. There they meet a former ship's doctor named Crocus, who has been living with this whale named Labun for many years. Luke leads Luffy into the tunnel, where he meets two strange types: the guy Mr. Nine and the girl Miss Vensday. As it turns out, they want to kill Laboon in order to bring his meat to their hometown, but the Straw Hat Pirates trap and neutralize them. | Crocus tells the story of Labun. 50 years before the series, Laboon traveled with a pirate crew. The island whales, which is Labun, are the largest whales in the world and come from West Blue. The team stayed with Reverse Mountain for a while, and then sailed away, leaving Laboon by the mountain so that he would not endanger himself on the unpredictable Grand Line. Since then Labun has been waiting for them, and he is still waiting for them. When Crocus found out that these pirates would not return, he told Labun, but he refused to believe and began ramming Red Line to break through to his friends, so he has all his head in scars. Luffy, without thinking twice, hits Labun directly on the wound, and when Labun attacks him, Luffy declares a draw and offers him to conclude an agreement: when they return, Luffy and Labun will fight again. To prevent Laboon from forgetting his promise, Luffy paints the giant Jolly Roger of the Straw Hat Pirates on his forehead and tells him not to bang his head on the Red Line and erase it until he returns. | Igars, as captain of the royal guard of Alabasta, begs Zoro to protect Princess Vivi. | The skirmish between Zoro and Luffy is interrupted by Us. Vivi shouts Luffy goodbye if he still considers her his companion, to which the team, not wanting to give sentinels information about her relationship with them, just silently takes off the white bandages from his hands and lifts them to show the crosses painted on his hands. | |||||
