The destroyer was laid down on April 23, 1943 at the Bethlehem Steel shipyard, launched on August 30, 1943, and put into operation on December 20, 1943, under the command of Commander E.V.Dennet.
Content
History
On May 29, 1944, the destroyer joined the strike group of ships bound for the Eniwetok Atoll. On June 19 and 20, Banham took part in the Battle of the Philippine Sea .
