Biography
Ivan Fedorovich Slobodchikov was born on March 27, 1905 in the village of Kaslinsky district of the Chelyabinsk region.
In 1921 he joined the ranks of members of the Komsomol and went on a Komsomol ticket to study for a forester in the Sarapul Agricultural College.
Having received his education, in 1937 he left for the BASSR to work as a forester. He worked in the Uchalinsky district of the BASSR as a taxi driver, engineer, director of the leshoz, deputy chairman of the district council, chairman of the district council of the Zilair district of the BASSR.
During the Great Patriotic War, Slobodchikov served in the Trans-Baikal Military District, took part in the war with Japan. After demobilization, he returned to Bashkiria, where almost until retirement he worked in the village of Zilaire as chairman of the district executive committee.
He published his first poems in the 1920s in the Sarapul newspapers “To Change” and “Red Prikamye”, later in “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, in collective collections in Moscow and Leningrad.
He published the first book of short stories “Bonfires Burn” in 1962. He later wrote the short stories “Snowdrops”, the novel “Kosh-Yelga”, “The Native Key”, “The House with Green Shutters”, “June is Hot Time”, the novels “Big Glades”, “Time of Hope”. His last book was “Clouds over Surenya” (1988).
