Desyatnikov, Vladimir Alexandrovich

Vladimir Aleksandr Desyatnikov (born January 26, 1931 , Semipalatinsk Region ) is a Russian artist and art historian , writer . Honored Artist of the Russian Federation , Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts . One of the founders of VOOPIiK .

Biography

Born in with. Bahty Makachinsky district of Semipalatinsk region in the family of the chief of the frontier post; parents are Cossacks of old service families: father, Alexander Nikiforovich - from Orenburg Cossacks, mother, Alexandra Georgievna Popova - Kuban Cossack, whose father was a cossack of His Imperial Majesty Convoy [1] .

Father was constantly transferred from place to place: after Kazakhstan he served in Gdov , in 1939 he was again transferred to Kazakhstan - to the 30th Bakhtinsky border detachment; participated in the Finnish war . In the summer of 1940, the Desyatnikovs' family, in which, besides Vladimir, had an older sister, Valya and a younger brother, Felix, arrived from Kazakhstan, from the Chinese border, to Kexholm, where a battalion of the 4th NKVD border regiment commanded by his father was stationed. Soon, his father was transferred to Alma-Ata , and before the war, in late May 1941, he was enrolled in the first year of the Higher Border School .

In 1943, Vladimir Desyatnikov went to study at the Tashkent Suvorov Military School .

In 1950 he was appointed deputy chief of the frontier post, a year later - chief. After leaving the army with the rank of captain in 1960, he entered the evening art history department of the history department of Moscow State University , where his teacher was V. M. Vasilenko . He worked at the Ministry of Culture of the USSR .

In March 1963, V. A. Desyatnikov organized a recording of the Rostov ringing [2] , records with which were distributed around the world.

In 1964, together with P. D. Baranovsky and I. S. Glazunov, he organized the patriotic club Rodina [3] , which became the embryo of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture . After the founding congress of the WOOPIK in 1966, V. A. Desyatnikov was elected the first chairman of the primary organization of its Central Council.

After Desyatnikov prepared a collection of articles “Monuments of the Fatherland” in 1965 — about the destruction of the enormous volume of Russian cultural and historical heritage during the years of Soviet power, he was dismissed from the USSR Ministry of Culture.

The artist’s works are stored in the Simferopol Art Gallery , “Geckoso Gallery” (Japan), in private collections in Russia, the USA and England.

In 1998 he was awarded the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh .

  1. ↑ In the personal file of A. N. Desyatnikov, there was an indication that G. A. Popov was an active assistant to the ataman of the white gangs during the Civil War. Temizhbek Krasnodar Territory, was then elected at the village meeting the first chairman of the collective farm, but was soon convicted under Art. 58 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for ten years in labor camp; was on Solovki, then worked in Solombal - a suburb of Arkhangelsk. He returned home just before the war. In 1946 he was again arrested and again convicted under Art. 58. He died in prison in Armavir in 1952, seventy years old.
