Heterospilus fonsecai (lat.) - a species of riders of the genus Heterospilus from the subfamily Doryctinae of the family braconidae ( Braconidae ). Found in Central America : endemic to Costa Rica [1] .

Description
Small hymenopteran insects , about 4.0 mm long. It features a smooth mesoscutum and yellow stigma. The forehead and face are furrowed. The scutellum is smooth. The main color is brown (from light to dark); Scapus and legs are yellow. Flagellum brown (consists of 26–28 segments). 1st abdominal tergite longitudinally furrowed; 4–7th tergites smooth. Ovipositor is longer than metasome in length. In the front wing, a radio-medial vein is developed. Fore tibia with single row of short spines along anterior margin. On the hind coxae of the legs there is a distinct anteroventral basal protrusion; the vertex of the head on the side of the eye is not sharp angular. Presumably, like other species of the genus Heterospilus , parasitize on beetles or butterflies. The species was first described in 2013 by the American hymenopterologist Paul Marsh ( Paul M. Marsh ; , Kansas , USA ) with a group of American fellow entomologists ( Wild Alexander L. , Whitfield James B .; University of Illinois at Urban- Champaign , Erbana , Illinois , USA). The species is named after the entomologist G. Fonseca , who collected a type series [1] .
