All Media Network (also known as the All Media Guide or Allrovi ) is an American company that owns the websites Allmusic , Allgame , Allmovie , Sidereel and Celebified. The All Media Guide was founded in 1990 by pop culture activist Michael Erlevine . His first project was a music database - All Music Guide, founded in 1991, a little later, in 1994, he created a site dedicated to cinematography - All Movie Guide. Both sites are still functioning, regularly replenishing and updating their online database. In addition, in 1998 another project was launched under the name “ Allgame ”, which could also provide users with an extensive base on the subject of computer games [1] . At the end of 2007, Macrovision (now Rovi Corporation ) acquired the company for $ 72 million [2] and in 2013 transferred access to the recently created All Media Network, LLC , while retaining ownership and maintenance of the contents of the databases [3] [4] .

Content

History

The company was founded in Big Rapids, Michigan , in 1990. Initially, she collected information about musicians and their works for the All Music Guide website, but in 1994 the company launched a new project - an online movie database called The All Movie Guide . In 1998, an information base on computer games, called the All Game Guide , was also presented [5] . In 1999, the company moved to Ann Arbor , Michigan , where there were better conditions for finding new employees. [1] From that moment, the correspondent Mark Deming was appointed to the post of editor of All Music Guide [6] .

On November 6, 2007, California-based Macrovision (now Rovi Corporation) announced the purchase of all projects in the All Media Guide package, including AllMovie , AllMusic and AllGame [7] .

For some time from 2011 to 2013, all of the company's projects were controlled through Rovi servers, and access to infobases was provided through the AllRovi.com website, but after the purchase of the project by All Media Network, LLC, the AllRovi website ceased to work, and instead was launched a new one - AllMediaNetwork.com [3] .

Business Model

All Media Network is a large database of metadata about movies, music, video games and television shows, posted on the Internet for domestic use. Articles on the company's websites include information on ratings and ratings of works, biographies of actors and musicians, and also provide links to the purchase of media materials in popular online stores, or online viewing, if possible. The site, launched in April 2007, allows users to watch online television shows, as well as monitor the release of new episodes. The project presents the opportunity to leave feedback on television series and conduct discussions with other participants.
