History

The name was assigned on April 19, 1961 in honor of Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin (1934 - 1968), the first person in the world to fly into space on April 12, 1961 [1] . He performed on September 9, 1967 at the Volkov Theater with the presentation of the Order of Lenin to the region.
