Stizus emir

Stizus emir (lat.) - a species of sand wasps from the subfamily Bembicinae (tribe Stizini ). Central Asia , Iran , Uzbekistan , Tajikistan , Turkmenistan . Length about 1.5 cm (12 to 21 mm). Abdominal tergites with solid yellow bandages. The shield of the mesoscutum carries two yellow spots in the central part. The antennae of females are 12-segmented (males consist of 13 segments). The inner edges of the eyes are subparallel (without a notch). The abdomen is sedentary (the first sternite of the abdomen is completely under tergite). The front wing has three cubital cells. Nest in the ground. The species was first described in 1901 by the Austrian entomologist Anton Handlirsch ( Anton Handlirsch , 1865-1935) [1] [2] .
