Biography

Alexey Pavlov was born on March 2, 1913 in Moscow . He graduated from eight classes of school. In September 1941, Pavlov was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since November of the same year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In September 1942, Pavlov graduated from the Penza Artillery School [1] .

By August 1944, Lieutenant Alexei Pavlov commanded the battery of the 1442nd self-propelled artillery regiment of the 31st tank corps of the 5th Guards Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . Distinguished during the Lviv-Sandomierz operation . From 14 to 16 August 1944, the Pavlova battery participated in the battles for the village of Stopnitsa, 17 kilometers southeast of the city of Busko-Zdrój , inflicting heavy losses on military equipment and manpower to German troops. In those battles, Pavlov was wounded, but continued to fight [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 23, 1944, for "courage and heroism shown in battles," Lieutenant Alexei Pavlov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 4617 [1] .

In June 1946, in the rank of Senior Lieutenant Pavlov was dismissed. He lived and worked in Moscow. He died suddenly on June 27, 1949, and was buried in the Pyatnitsky cemetery of Moscow [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
