Eocencnemus sugonjaevi (lat.) Is a fossil species of small chalcidoid riders of the genus Eocencnemus from the family Encyrtidae . Found in European fossils ( Ukraine , Rivne amber, Eocene , 45 Ma). It is characterized by the archaic structure of the mesosome with the apical position of paratergites, tridentate mandibles. The species Eocencnemus sugonjaevi was first described in 2002 by Ukrainian entomologist Sergei Anatolyevich Simutnik ( I. I. Shmalgauzen Institute of Zoology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine , Kiev , Ukraine ). The taxonomic position within the subfamily Tetracneminae remains unclear. The third fossil representative of the parasitic family of encyrtids after the previously described species of Encyrtus clavicornis , Eocencyrtus zerovae . The name E. sugonjaevi was given in honor of the major hymenopterologist, Doctor of Biological Sciences Evgeny Semenovich Sugonyaev [1] ( Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences , St. Petersburg ) [2] [3] [4] .
