Biography
Vladislav Trofimovich Tomashevsky was born on June 26, 1929 in the village of Yegorlykskaya, Rostov Region .
From 1947 to 1990 he served in the Navy .
In 1952 he graduated from the shipbuilding faculty of the Higher Naval Engineering School named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky .
From 1953 to 1955, he served in the Baltic Fleet Emergency and Rescue Service as a senior and chief engineer for emergency rescue, underwater technical and ship lifting operations, and as deputy commander of a separate emergency rescue service division.
From 1956 to 1958 he served as a senior officer in the technical department of weapons and ship repair of the Kronstadt Naval Base.
In 1960 he defended his thesis.
In 1961 he graduated from the Faculty of Shipbuilding of the Naval Academy of Shipbuilding and Arms named after A.N. Krylova .
From 1961 to 1970 he served as a senior researcher at the Central Research Institute of Military Shipbuilding .
In 1961 and 1964 he was awarded the PF Papkovich Prize.
In 1969 he defended his doctoral dissertation ( Doctor of Technical Sciences ), since 1970 - professor .
From 1967 to 1987, he was deputy chairman of the Scientific Coordination Council of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the defense industries.
In 1970, he was appointed head of the department of military shipbuilding at the Naval Academy.
Since 1983 he is a member of the Russian National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics [1] .
In 1985 and 1986 he was a laureate of prizes of the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR .
In 1990, V.T. Tomashevsky was awarded the honorary title - Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation and he became a laureate of the prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for work in the field of mechanics.
From 1990 to 2001, after being transferred to the reserve, he worked as a professor of the same department at the Naval Academy and at the same time until 1996 - head of the Laboratory of Composite Systems Mechanics at the Institute of Problems of Machine Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Since 1992 - full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences , since 1996 - Honorary Professor of the Naval Academy. He was awarded the medal of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. P.L. Kapitsa .
Since 2001, he has been the chief research fellow at the Institute of Machine Science Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPMash RAS), since 2002, he has been the chief fellow at the St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences .
At present, the Director of the Center for Applied Research is the Deputy Director for Innovation Activities at the Institute of Problems of Machine Science, Russian Academy of Sciences.
He is a member of specialized councils for the defense of doctoral dissertations at IPMash RAS, Naval Academy, Central Research Institute named after Academician A. N. Krylov and Ph.D. theses at 40 GNII of the Moscow Region .
Vladislav Trofimovich Tomashevsky prepared 8 doctors and 34 candidates of sciences.
He is a member of the Presidium of the Department of Problems of Education and Science Development of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, a member of the editorial boards and editorial boards of the Sudostroenie publishing house, the magazines Mechanics of Composite Materials and Applied Mechanics.
