Biography
Nikolai Osin was born in December 1902 in the village of Ponetaevka (now Shatkovsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region ). After graduating from elementary school, he worked first as a laborer, then as a forester. After graduating from livestock courses, he worked as a specialist in a state farm . At the end of 1941, Osin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since 1943 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By January 1944, Sergeant Nikolai Osin was the gunner of the 1646th anti-tank artillery regiment of the 60th Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of Western Ukraine. On January 29, 1944, in a battle near the village of Sudilkov, Shepetovsky district, Khmelnitsky region of the Ukrainian SSR, Osin, as part of his battery, participated in repelling three German counterattacks, personally destroying four enemy tanks, while he was wounded [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 23, 1944, Sergeant Nikolai Osin was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union for "exemplary performance of command missions of the command on the front of the fight against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism". He did not manage to receive the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal , since on September 25, 1944 he was seriously wounded and died on October 3, 1944 in a hospital. He was buried in the town of Bukovskoye, Krosno Voivodeship of Poland [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
In honor of Aspen, the school in his homeland is named [1] .
