Biography
Denis Osadchy was born on October 25, 1899 in the village of Vityazevka (now - Bobrinets district of the Kirovograd region of Ukraine ). He graduated from seven classes of the school. In December 1918, Osadchy was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He participated in the battles of the Civil War . In 1928, Osadchy graduated from the Transcaucasian military school, in 1940 - advanced training courses for command personnel. Since the beginning of World War II - on its fronts, he was wounded twice in battles [1] .
By August 1944, Guard Colonel Denis Osadchy commanded the 6th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 5th Guards Tank Corps of the 6th Panzer Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of Romania . The Osadchy brigade made a great contribution to the liberation of the Romanian cities of Vaslui , Tecuci , Focsani , Ramnikul-Sarat , Ploiesti , Oradea . October 14, 1944 Osadchy died in battle near the city of St. Petersva in Hungary . He was buried in the city of Balti in Moldova [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 28, 1945, for the "exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the fight against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" of the guard, Colonel Denis Osadchy was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Order of Lenin , three orders of the Red Banner and a number of medals. Forever enrolled in the lists of personnel of the military unit [1] .
