Rožmberk Palace ( Czech Rožmberský palác ) or the Institute of Noble Maidens ( Czech Ústav šlechtičen ) - a palace in Prague Castle , originally Renaissance , built in 1545 - 1574 by the Rožmberk family . In 1600, it was sold to King Rudolph II . In this form, the building stood until the middle of the XVIII century, when, by order of Maria Theresa, the palace was turned into the Institute of Noble Maidens, which the ruler founded in 1753 for 30 daughters of the aristocracy. The institution ceased to exist in 1919 , the building was given to the Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 1996-2007, reconstruction was made, and the palace was returned to its original Baroque appearance [1] .
