Title
The generic name Lossinia - at the place of find, from the Elk swamp near the Winter coast of the White Sea, Arkhangelsk region . The specific name is in honor of the keeper of the winter-mountain lighthouse Valery Lisetskiy.
View Description
The elongated oval body consists of a head and a body, separated by a narrow groove. The head is semicircular, the length is about 0.3 of the total body length. The edges of the body are divided into short isomers located at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the body. Along the body, along the body axis, there is another narrow groove. The head region and the trunk region, excluding isomers and grooves, are covered with numerous tubercles [1] .
The sizes of the fossil specimens known by the time of the description are 3.2 × 1.8 mm ( holotype ), 3.5 × 2.2 mm, and 8.4 × 4.7 mm [1] .
Genus Description
According to the authors of the first description, the lossinia is most similar to onega , with which it is brought together by the presence of a large undivided area and tubercles on it. The difference is manifested in the fact that the undivided region of the elk has a smaller area and does not surround all isomers, but only borders on the first pair. In addition, lossinia is slightly smaller and has relatively larger isomers [1] .
Onega differs from Vendia by the presence of an undivided region and tubercles, as well as by a significantly smaller size [1] .
