Biography

Osipov K.N., Belarusian by nationality, was born in the village of Zborov in a peasant family. After finishing seven classes, he subsequently worked in the district committee of the Komsomol Zhlobin . He entered the Red Army in 1929, taking part in the Soviet-Finnish war . In 1931 he joined the CPSU [1] . In 1935 he graduated from the artillery school [2] .

He participated in the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. Osipov was the secretary of the party bureau of the 245th howitzer artillery regiment ( 37th Infantry Division , 19th Army , Western Front ), when, as a senior political officer , he was surrounded [1] . Osipov, as part of the group of troops of Lieutenant General I.V. Boldin , tried to get out of the encirclement with battles. In August 1941, having crossed the front line, he was able to establish contact with I. Konev ; with his participation, a plan was developed and implemented to join the group with the troops of the Red Army. August 15, 1941 Osipov K. N. was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union [1] [2] . In 1942-1943 he worked at the headquarters of the partisan movement at the military council of the Western Front, until in 1944 he again appeared at the front, taking part in the liberation of Belarus , the battles in East Prussia and against Japan [2] .

Continuing military service after the war, K. Osipov graduated from the Higher Officer Artillery School in 1947 and in 1955 went to the reserve with the rank of colonel. He was buried in Gomel at the Davydovsky cemetery, where in 1976 an obelisk was erected on his grave [2] .
