Kvemo-Alvani ( cargo. ლვ ალვანი ) is a village located in the Akhmeta municipality of the Kakheti region of Georgia . Kvemo Alvani is located in the valley of the Alazani River , at an altitude of 460 meters above sea level.

General information
The main occupation of the population is agriculture . With the financial support of the Czech Development Agency, traditional agricultural sectors are developing in Kvemo Alvani - potato growing and sheep farming [3] . In the village there is a state farm engaged in breeding with sheep of the Tushino breed [4] .
In Kvemo Alvani, there is the Tusheti Protected Areas Administration, which manages the Tusheti State Reserve and the Tusheti National Park [5] .
In 2013, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili opened a memorial in Kvemo Alvani, dedicated to the memory of the native of the village, George Antsukhelidze. The memorial is named after G. Antsukhelidze, K. Abuladze and S. Mozaidze, who died during the armed conflict in South Ossetia [6] .
Interesting Facts
The village of Kvemo-Alvani is located on the Tbilisi - Omalo highway, 120 km from the Georgian capital. The section of the Kvemo-Alvani-Omalo road in 2013 was named by the BBC one of the most dangerous roads in Europe [7] .
