Javier Palacios Ruman ( Spanish: Javier Palacios Ruhmann ; 1925, Viña del Mar - 2006, Viña del Mar ) is a Chilean general who participated in the military coup of September 11, 1973 . He commanded the storming of the presidential palace of La Moneda . The first to convey the prompt report of the death of Salvador Allende . In 1974 - 1975 one of the leaders of the State Production Development Corporation.

Content
Army Service
He graduated from the Military Academy, served in the military education system. In 1968 he was Assistant Secretary to the Minister of Defense. He commanded the regiment in Valparaiso , was the military attache of Chile in Germany . In 1972 he was appointed head of the army intelligence.
Storming of La Moneda
In September 1973 he joined a military conspiracy against the left government of Salvador Allende . On September 11, 1973, by order of General Pinochet, he commanded the attack of the 2nd Tank Regiment and infantry on the presidential palace of La Moneda . Personally participated in the battle, was slightly wounded.
Finding the dead Salvador Allende, General Palacios identified him on the watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre . He called a radio officer and gave a brief report to the command:
Task completed. Moneda taken. The president is dead.

After the coup
In March 1974, General Palacios was appointed Vice-President of the Production Development Corporation. He held this post until April 1975 . In 1977 he left the army and became a representative of the Corporation in the United States.
He died of a heart attack at the age of 81.
