Ice hockey competitions at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were held from February 10 to 25 at the Gangneung Hockey Center and at the Gangwon University Sports Arena . 12 men's and 8 women's teams played two sets of awards - in the men's and women's tournaments, respectively. The dimensions of the hockey field (60 Γ 30 m) are provided for by the standards of the International Ice Hockey Federation .

Qualification
Participating Teams
All 12 teams guaranteed their participation in the tournament. 8 teams qualified according to the IIHF-2015 rating , which was compiled following the results of the 2015 world hockey championship . These are Canada , Russia , Sweden , Finland , the USA , Czech Republic , Switzerland and Slovakia . The Republic of Korea was also qualified as a host country [1] . Also, following the qualifications for the Olympic tournament, the teams of Norway , Germany and Slovenia were selected.

8 teams guaranteed their participation in the tournament. 5 teams qualified according to the IIHF-2016 rating , which was compiled as a result of the 2016 world hockey championship - these are the teams of the USA , Canada , Finland , Russia and Sweden . Two more teams were selected according to the results of the qualification tournament - these are the teams of Switzerland and Japan . The national team of the Republic of Korea qualified as the host country.
