History

The story begins in Kharkov on December 31, 1991 with the birth of the band Suppuration, which played unholy death metal. Its participants were Prince Varggoth, Munruthel and Xaarquath. Their first release was Ecclesiastical Blasphemy (1992). After the arrival of vocalist Sataroth in 1992, the demo “Unspeakable Journey Into Subsconscious World” (1993) was recorded. In April 1993, Wortherax (guitar) joined the band, and in May Suppuration recorded "Cosmic Flight Around Astralspher". already in the fall of 1993 a new band CRYSTALINE DARKNESS appeared, playing black metal. It included Prince Varggoth - vocals / guitar, Karpath - guitar and Munruthel - drums. Recording demo "Mi Agama Khaz Mifisto".

In 1994, former Suppuration members reunited and, under the name Nocturnal Mortum (with “C” in the first word) recorded the demo “Twilightfall” (1995). After the band left for black metal, the name was changed to Nokturnal Mortum (henceforth with “K”). In late 1995 - early 1996, the legendary demo "Lunar Poetry" was recorded. Soon Wortherax left the band and was replaced by Karpath and Saturious (second keyboard player). In the summer of 1996, the second album “Goat Horns” was recorded (MetalAgen released MC in the spring of 1997). In December 1996, "Return Of The Vampire Lord" was recorded, which included a new title track and two Crystaline Darkness songs ("Mi Agama Khaz Mifisto" and "Crystaline Darkness").

In 1997, Nokturnal Mortum recorded the album “To The Gates Of Blasphemous Fire”, as well as “Marble Moon” EP, which, among other things, included the Ukrainian folk song “Lastivka” (“Through the River, Through the Guy”) and “The Hymn”. At the same time, the group signed a contract with The End Records (USA), which proposed favorable conditions and decided to publish all Nokturnal Mortum albums on CD. In January 1999, the guitarist Karpath left the band. From February 26 to May 9, the recording of the new album "Nehrist" was held. In the spring of 2000, Munruthel and Saturious left the Nokturnal Mortum. Istukan, and after him Khaoth were involved as session drummers, however Munruthel returned to Nokturnal Mortum in the fall. In addition, a new guitar player Vrolok (a member of Runes of Dianceht) joined the band. At the end of 2000, Saturdayious returned to Nokturnal Mortum.

Winter - Spring 2002: Nokturnal Mortum resumed their concert activities. Xaarquath left the band and Vrolok switched to bass.

And finally, after a few years, Nokturnal Mortum is recording his long-awaited new material. For this, a session violinist was involved and Alzeth was taken as a guitarist. Munruthel quit in December 2003, and Odalv took his place. In 2005, a new album was released in two versions. The English version was published by No Colors under the name "Weltanschauung" and the Russian-Ukrainian "World View" - Oriana Music.

In early 2006, for personal reasons, leaves the Alzeth group. He helps for a while as a session counselor at concerts until the band finds a replacement. Astargh joined the band in February 2007. In April 2009, Odalv left the band and was replaced by Bairoth.
