History
The name "Hanze" refers to the original term of the "Hanseatic League" - the medieval trade union of various Hanseatic cities, including cities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Scandinavia and others.
Hanze was founded in 1986 as a result of the merger of local institutes of applied sciences, the oldest of which is the Minerva Academy, founded in 1798, which was the first institution with a variety of practical higher education in the Netherlands specializing in modern art, design and pop culture. In this way, Hanze celebrated his 215 anniversary in 2013. The first international department of Khanze became the department of International Business and Management opened in 1997.
Hanze has a reputation as an international university due to several facts. First, teaching is provided in a variety of languages, including English, German and Dutch. In addition, the university participates in the ERASMUS scholarship program, offering its students the opportunity to study for exchange in more than 70 partner universities around the world. In addition, students of not less than 50 nationalities study in Hanza [2] . From 1998 to 2002, Hanze was involved in a diploma fraud and illegally received 1.5 million euros as state subsidies for students who received studies abroad or completed four years of study in one year.
