The Archdiocese of Santa Cruz de la Sierra ( Latin: Archidioecesis Sanctae Crucis de Sierra ) is the archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra , Bolivia . The diocese of San Ignacio de Velasco is included in the metropolis of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

History
The diocese of Santa Cruz de la Sierra was established on July 5, 1605 in the territory allocated from the diocese of La Plata .
Subsequently, the diocese of Santa Cruz de la Sierra ceded part of its territory to new structures:
- June 25, 1847 - Dioceses of Cochabamba ;
- December 1, 1917 - to the Apostolic Vicariate of Beni ;
- May 22, 1919 - to the Apostolic Vicariate of Chaco ;
- January 27, 1930 - to the Apostolic Vicariate of Chiquitos .
On July 30, 1975, the diocese of Santa Cruz de la Sierra was elevated to the rank of archdiocese.
