Content
Geography
The village is located in the north-eastern part of the Urvan region , near the railway line Nalchik - Kotlyarevskaya . It is located 1.2 km north-west of the center of the rural settlement - Psykod , 19 km north-east of the regional center - Nartkala and 44 km from the city of Nalchik .
It borders the lands of settlements: Psykod in the southeast, the farms of Pravo-Urvan and Krasnaya Polyana in the north and the city of May in the east.
The village is located on the inclined Kabardian plain , in the transition from the foothill to the lowland zone of the republic. The terrain has a general slope from the southwest to the northeast and consists mainly of foothill wavy plains, with hilly and mound hills. The average altitude in the village is 237 meters above sea level. From the north, the village is surrounded by a strip of forest.
The hydrographic network is represented mainly by spring sources. An ameliorative canal runs along the western outskirts of the village, along its southern outskirts an unnamed spring stream flows, and even south of the river Old Kahun . The level of water supply is one of the highest in the CBD. The depth of groundwater in the rural settlement is only 2-2.5 meters. In this regard, various moisture-loving crops are grown in the village and its environs.
The climate is humid and temperate, with warm summers and cool winters. In general, climatic conditions are favorable for the cultivation of all zonal crops and perennial plantings. The average annual air temperature is + 10.5 ° C, and ranges from average + 23.0 ° C in July to average -2.0 ° C in January. The average annual rainfall is about 630 mm. Most precipitation will fall between April and June. The main winds are northwest and east.
History
The village was founded in 1924 , as a station at the Nalchik - Kotlyarevskaya railway line, and was originally called the village “Eighth kilometer”.
In 1954, the village was included in the Psykodsky village council .
From 1958 to 1963 , together with the village of Psykod , they were part of the Novo-Ivanovo village council of the May district .
In 1963, the settlements were returned to the Urvan region , to the newly restored Psykodsky village council.
In 1965, the village was given the status of a village and renamed Kabardinka.
