Dzonghagh court

The Dzonghagh court exists in each of Bhutan ’s 20 dzongkhags , and is the court of first instance of the Royal Court of Bhutan in 14 of the 20 dzongkhags. In the remaining 6 dzongkhags, there are lower instances of jurisdiction - the dunghag courts . The Dzonghagh Court is headed by the Chief Justice, and the Drangpona (legal advisers) [1] are also members of the court. In accordance with the 2008 Constitution, unlike the judges of the Supreme Court and the High Court , the chief judges and drangpona of the dzongkhag courts are not appointed by the king.
