Joseph Romualdovich Stanevsky [1] ( Belorussian. Yusaf Ramualdavich Staneўski , Polish. Józef Staniewski ; April 4, 1969 , Zanevichi ) - Belarusian Catholic bishop, titular bishop of Tabaikara , vicar of the Grodno diocese [2] .

Biography

Born on February 4, 1969 in the village of Zanevichi, Grodno region . In 1990, he became one of the first seminarians of the Grodno Seminary founded in the same year [3] . He was ordained deacon on December 8, 1994, and priests on June 17, 1995 [4] . After the ordination, he served in Volkovysk .

In 1996-1999 he continued his studies in the field of canon law at the Catholic University of Lublin in Poland , received a master's degree in canon law, after which he continued his ministry at home, in particular, he taught at the Grodno seminary. In 2005, he was appointed its rector [3] .

On March 12, 2012, Joseph Stanevsky received from Pope Benedict XVI the honorary title Chaplain of His Holiness [3] .

On November 29, 2013, Pope Francis appointed Joseph Stanevsky as auxiliary bishop of the Grodno diocese with the title of titular bishop of Tabaikara. On February 1, 2014, episcopal consecration was held, headed by Bishop of Grodno Alexander Kashkevich [4] .
