Traunfelner, Peter

Peter Karl Traunfellner ( German: Peter Carl Traunfellner ; October 20, 1930 , Vienna - April 7, 1975 , Vienna ) - Austrian conductor and composer. Claudius Traunfelner ’s father.

He graduated from the Vienna Academy of Music ( 1952 ), a student of Clemens Kraus and Hans Swarovski , also studied theory with Alfred Ul and piano with Victor Ebenstein , studied musicology and German studies at the University of Vienna . In 1953 , he won the Besancon International Competition for Young Conductors .

In 1952 - 1957 worked at the Graz Theater, then lived in Vienna, gave concerts as a conductor and pianist, and was involved in composition. In 1961 - 1963 Director of the Kabul Conservatory. Upon returning to Austria, he taught in Vienna.

The author of a symphony (1958), a concert for four flutes, a piano, a vibraphone and double bass and orchestra (1960), the cantata "Austria" (1965), choral compositions, music for plays and films.
