Anatoly Ivanovich Bulychev ( October 21, 1905 , St. Petersburg - January 4, 1992 , Moscow ) - Soviet heavyweight boxer , performed at the All-Union level in the first half of the 1930s. Biography
Anatoly Bulychev was born on October 21, 1905 in St. Petersburg . He began to actively engage in sports at the age of sixteen in the gymnastics section of the Main Military School of Physical Education for Workers in Moscow, participated in wrestling and athletics competitions. Boxing training was held under the guidance of well-known coaches Konstantin Gradopolov and Alexander Getye , later joined the capital's sports society Dynamo . He achieved his first serious success in the ring in 1930, when he became the champion in Moscow in the heavyweight division (he subsequently held this title for four years). Two years later he won the championship of the RSFSR, and a year later he won the All-Union Championship.
In 1934, Bulychev took third place in the standings of the national championship, while in the next season he was second - in the decisive match, he was defeated by Leningrad Nikolai Belyaev . Shortly after these competitions, he decided to end his career as an athlete. For outstanding sports achievements in 1947 he was awarded the honorary title " Honored Master of Sports of the USSR ."
Anatoly Bulychev achieved no less success in the coaching field. Back in 1938, he began to train juniors in the boxing section of Dynamo, and later worked as a teacher in the boxing department of the SCOLIFK . In 1952, he participated in the preparation of the USSR Olympic team before the competitions in Helsinki, in particular, his student Gennady Garbuzov became the bronze medalist of these Games. Also, for some time, he was the mentor of multiple champions of the Soviet Union, Viktor Mikhailov and Anatoly Bulakov . In 1954 he received the title of Honored Trainer of the USSR. In the period 1959-1960, at the request of the Boxing Association, the DPRK worked as a coach in Pyongyang. He participated in boxing matches as a judge of the All-Union category and the international judge of AIBA. In 1965, his book, the methodical manual “Boxing” [1] , was published.
He died on January 4, 1992, was buried at the Golovinsky cemetery in Moscow, plot number 7 [2] .
