Paddy and the Rats is a Hungarian folk rock band founded in 2008. In their work, the group combines punk and pub rock , in many compositions there are Irish and Celtic folk motifs.

Group History
Paddy and the Rats was founded by vocalist Paddy O'Reilly, bassist Vince Murphy and guitarist Joey McOnkey in Miskolc in 2008. Later, Seamus Connelly (drums), Sam Mackenzie ( fiddle , whistles , bagpipes , banjo ) and Sonny Sullivan ( accordion ) joined the lineup. In April 2012, Sony Salivan left the group, he was replaced by Bernie Bellamy.
In 2010, the band released their first album, Rats on Board, which was a huge success not only in Hungary but also abroad. In the same year, Paddy and the Rats became the most downloaded Hungarian group on iTunes [1] .
In 2015, an album was released dedicated to personal experiences, Lonely Heart's Boulevard
In April 2017, they announced a new album, Riot City Outlaws, which is scheduled for release on June 7.
On May 18, a new single from the upcoming album was introduced - Join The Riot. May 30 - the second single, Where Red Paints The Ocean.
