History
The village of Vasilkovo is mentioned in the Patrol Book of the Vodskaya Pyatina of the Korel half of 1612 in the Yegoryevsky Terebuzhsky churchyard [2] .
The map of Ingermanland by A. I. Bergenheim , compiled from Swedish materials in 1676, marks the village of Wasilkowa [3] .
Then, the border village of Vasilkova is plotted on the “Geographical Drawing of Izhora Land” by Adrian Shonbek in 1705 [4] .
As the village of Vasilkovo, it is mentioned on the map of Ingermanlandia A. Rostovtsev in 1727 [5] .

According to the statistics on the national economy of the Novoladozhsky district of 1891, one of the estates in the village of Vasilkovo with an area of 1812 acres belonged to the wife of adjutant general A.V. Villamova and was acquired in 1869 for 19,026 rubles, the second estate belonged to secret adviser A.F. Zubarev with his wife, the estate was acquired until 1868 [12] .
In the XIX century, the village administratively belonged to the Shumsky volost of the 1st camp of the Novoladozh district of St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the XX century - the 4th camp.
From 1917 to 1927, the village of Vasilkovo was part of the Vasilkovsky village council of the Shumsky volost of the Volkhov district .

According to 1933, the village of Vasilkovo was the administrative center of the Vasilkovsky village council of the Mginsky district, which included 8 settlements, villages: Gorodishche, Lukinskoye, Muchikhino, Nikolskoye, Podillya, Sirokasska, Troitskoye and the village of Vasilkovo , with a total population of 1380 people [14] .
According to 1936, the Vasilkovsky Village Council consisted of 7 settlements, 275 farms and 6 collective farms [15] .

The village is located in the north-eastern part of the district on the highway 41A-120 (Access to Zhikharevo station), south of the federal highway P21 ( E 105 ) “Kola”.

The village is located on the Lava River.

- ↑ 1 2 Andrei Ivanovich Krutov (1794-1860) - captain, awarded the silver medal of 1812. After retiring, he was appointed inspector of the Academy of Fine Arts College, awarded the Order of St. Anna . He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery in St. Petersburg.
