Geography
The village is located on the banks of the Kotelok stream. [1] [2]
History
According to the Lists of the inhabited places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village of Polyany belonged to the 1st camp of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . There were 7 yards in it , 24 men and 23 women lived. [one]
According to the 1897 census , 77 people lived in the village of Polyany (38 men and 39 women). [2]
According to the List of populated areas of the Kostroma province in 1907, the village of Polyany belonged to the Kotelsky volost of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 17 peasant households and 92 inhabitants. The main occupations of the villagers, in addition to agriculture, were transportation and agricultural work. [2]
Before the municipal reform of 2010, the village was also part of the Orekhovsky rural settlement. [3] [4]
