Isla (village)

Aila ( est. Aila ) is a village in northern Estonia in the Säue parish of Harju County . In the north and east, the village borders with Valingu , in the southeast with Tuula , in the south and west with Yigisoo . In 2012, the population of the village was 144 people. The elder of the village is Janis Ivask. [one]

Ritual Stone in Islay

Four cult stones were discovered in the village. These objects are of archaeological value and are protected by the state. [5] [6] [7]

The first mention of the village is contained in the Danish land book of 1241. The settlement in it is referred to as Akiolæ. [eight]

Transport

Commercial shuttle bus No. 256, which follows from Tallinn to Turba, stops in Isla. During the school year, the S5 bus also stops here from Jigisoo to Saue. [9]
