The village arose at the turn of the XII and XIII centuries. The Polish king Vladislav I Loketek presented the village to his knight Wilczko, who was a Sandomierz castellan. The first written evidence of the village dates back to 1374. Sources of 1385 mention the wooden church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which was located in the village.
In the XV century, the village belonged to the family of the Birkovsky coat of arms Ax , as mentioned by Jan Dlugosh in his work Liber beneficiorum . In the XVI century, the owner of the village was the Shembek clan of the Shebek coat of arms.
In 1633, a wooden church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, preserved to our time, was built in the village, near which in 1782 a parish cemetery was founded.
In 1868, after the division into two parts of the village, the settlement Birkowski Vyseljek was formed, which later became known as Bürkow Mali .
