Sunshine city

Sunshine City ( サ ン シ ャ イ ン シ シ テ ィ ) is a complex of buildings in the eastern part of the Ikebukuro district of Toshima , Tokyo . It consists of four buildings and is located on the territory that was once occupied by the prison of Sugamo [1] .

The complex, opened in 1978, includes a 240-meter Sunshine 60 skyscraper with a viewing platform, a museum of the Ancient East, an aquarium and a planetarium [2] . Also nearby are a hotel, a park, a conference center, a theater, and a shopping center.

Since the opening of the complex in Tokyo, other observation platforms began to appear, such as in Roppongi , and government offices [2] .
