Weissenstein (Ervensky) county is an administrative unit of the Estland province of the Russian Empire , which existed in 1745 - 1920. The center is the city of Weissenstein .

Geography
Weissenstein County was located in the southern part of the Estland province and occupied 2522.9 square meters. verst .
History
In 1745, the Yervvensky district was formed as part of the Revel province . In 1783, the Revel province was transformed into the Revel governorship , and the Yerven district - the Yerven cruise . In 1796, as a result of the reform, the Revel province was renamed Estland , and the Ervensky cruise was transformed into Weissenstein county .
In 1920, the county was abolished, its territory became part of the Republic of Estonia .
Population
According to the 1897 census, the county's population was 52,673 people, including 2507 people in Weissenstein [1] .
- 50971 of them are Estonians (24892 men, 26079 women)
- Of these, 1155 Germans (510 men, 645 women)
