Spartak (football club, Kostroma)

Spartak is a Russian football club from Kostroma . It was founded in 1959. In 1960—2018, he continuously took part in the competitions of teams of masters (non-amateur football clubs). At the end of the 2017/18 season, he lost his professional status due to financial problems [2] .

The team was organized in November 1959. He has been participating in the country's championships since 1960. In Class “B” of the USSR Championship (1960-1970), the team played 356 games (149 wins, 116 draws, 91 losses), 459 goals scored, 367 goals conceded. The best achievement is the 2nd place in the zone (1963, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970). The worst is the 14th (1960, 1965). Major victories - 6: 1 ( “Onegets” Petrozavodsk , 1962) and 5: 0 ( “Dynamo” Vologda , 1966; “Energy” Novocherkassk , 1968; “Electron” Novgorod , 1970). Major defeats - 0: 7 ( “Volga” Kalinin , 1960; “Shinnik” Yaroslavl , 1962). In the second league of the USSR Championship (1971-1980, 1983-1991), the team held 700 games (308 wins, 172 matches were tied, 214 losses), 954 goals were scored, 751 goals were conceded. Best achievement 1st place (1973, 1980). The worst - 17th place (1991). Major victories - 8: 1 ( Motor Vladimir , 1971), 7-0 ( Krasnaya Presnya Moscow , 1980), 7-1 ( Oka Kolomna , 1989). Major defeats - 0: 6 ( Progress Chernyakhovsk , 1991), 1: 6 ( Dynamo St. Petersburg , 1991), 2: 6 ( Terek Grozny , 1972).

In the First League (1981-1982), Spartak held 88 games (20 wins, 25 draws, 43 losses), 67 goals scored, 127 - conceded. The best achievement is 12th place (1981), the worst is 22nd place (1982).
