Julian ( lat. Iulianus ) - a rebel who rebelled against the power of the tetrarchs about 297 years.
From the historical work of Aurelius Victor “On Caesars”, it is known that Julian led the uprising of the Quinquegentans (peoples of five tribes) - the inhabitants of North Africa [1] . PLRE authors tend to identify him with Julian, mentioned in “Extracts on the Life and Morals of the Roman Emperors”. It is reported that Julian rebelled in Italy, but soon died, piercing himself with a sword and throwing himself into the fire [2] . And they explain the differences in the places of the uprising by the author’s mistake. However, their interpretation is in doubt.
