Yangelsky is a village in the Agapovsky district of the Chelyabinsk region of Russia . The administrative center of the Yangelsky rural settlement .

Geography

It is located in the south-west of the Chelyabinsk region, on the right bank of the Ural River , near the confluence of the Yangelka River, about 20 km south-west of the regional center, the village of Agapovka , at an altitude of 330 meters above sea level ^[2] .

History

Yangelsky was founded as a military post-redoubt of the Orenburg border line between 1740 and 1743. It is mentioned in the "List of populated areas of the Orenburg province", published in 1871, as the village of Yangelskaya ^[3] .

Gender composition

According to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census, men accounted for 47.8% of the gender structure of the population and 52.2% of women, respectively.

According to the 2002 census , Russians accounted for 78% of the national population structure ^[5] .

Infrastructure

The village has a secondary school (named after A.K. Filatov), a kindergarten, a cultural center ^[6] , a rural medical dispensary and a post office.
