Biography
He graduated from the Greek Catholic Seminary in Vilna. On November 3, 1795, he was ordained a deacon and two days later on November 5, 1795, a priest by the Greek Catholic bishop. From 1795 to 1797 he was a professor of theology at the Greek Catholic Seminary in Vladimir-Volynsky. In 1797 he moved to the Latin rite and became a canon of the Kiev Cathedral. He was a secretary and manager of the office of the Zhytomyr bishop. In March 1825 he became a doctor of theology at the University of Vilnius .
On July 3, 1826, Pope Leo XII appointed Michal Pivnitsky as the tyular bishop of Ramata and auxiliary bishop of Kamyanets-Podilsky . On May 6, 1827, Michal Pivnitsky was ordained a bishop, which was performed by the bishop of Kamenetz-Podolsk, Franciszek Borgias Matskiewicz, accompanied by the titular bishop of Polemonium and the auxiliary bishop of Lutsk and Zhytomyr Kant Podgorodensky and the titular bishop of Asia , Bishop Ark.
On May 23, 1828, Pope Leo XII appointed Vitaly Michal Pivnitsky as bishop of Lutsk and Zhytomyr.
He died on May 29, 1845 in Zhytomyr.
