Louis-Joseph-Gieslen Parmentier has been engaged in rose breeding for more than 30 years. After his death, many varieties were propagated and put on sale. The created catalog totaled 855 varieties. In addition to roses, the collection contained no less than 23 species and varieties of peonies , including Paeonia arborea var. papaveracea ( Andrews ) CK Schneid [1] [2] .
His brother Joseph-Julien-Ghislain Parmentier - was the mayor of Angien [3] .
