Out among the stars

Out Among the Stars is the posthumous studio album of American country singer Johnny Cash (1932–2003), released March 25, 2014 at Legacy Recordings . It included session recordings from the 1980s along with producer Billy Sherrill and discovered in 2012 by the son of country legend John Carter Cash . The disc was headed by the American country chart Top Country Albums , the charts of Switzerland (Swiss Albums), entered the top five albums in Australia ( Australian Albums Chart ), Great Britain ( UK Albums , Official Charts Company ), Canada ( Canadian Albums Chart ), Germany (German Albums), reached No. 3 in the US Billboard 200 [1] [3] .

History

The album received positive reviews from music critics and online publications, for example, AllMusic [1] , Stereogum [4] , Rolling Stone [2] . Even before the release, Stereogum called it the most anticipated disc of 2014 [4] . Released on March 25, 2014, Out Among the Stars debuted in third place in the US nationwide hit parade ( Billboard 200 ) and No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums , with a circulation of 54,000 copies for the first week of release [5] [6] . Later, its circulation reached 97,000 copies [7] .
