Biography
Born on May 1, 1911 in the village of Pozhnya, now Velikopisarevsky district, Sumy region . He worked on a collective farm, and then - in the management of gold mines in the Khabarovsk Territory .
In the Red Army since August 1943. Member of the Great Patriotic War since January 1944. He fought on the Leningrad Front . He was wounded three times, shell-shocked.
The shooter of the 743rd Infantry Regiment, the Red Armyman I.P. Orlov, among the first to cross the Narva River on July 25, 1944. On the Narva-Tallinn highway, he blew up 2 headquarters vehicles with grenades, seized important operational documents, 5 prisoners and delivered them to headquarters.

After the war, demobilized. He returned to his native village. He worked as chairman of the village council, foreman, forester. He died on June 15, 1985. He was buried in a cemetery in the village of Pozhnya.
