The University of Oslo Library ( Norwegian Universitetsbiblioteket i Oslo, UBO ) is the main scientific library in the structure of the University of Oslo .

History
The library was founded together with the university in 1811 . The first director of the library was Georg Sverdrup. For a long time it played the role of a national library. Located on the old university campus.
In 1913, the construction of the Henrik Ibsens gate library building was completed. From 1876 to 1922, the director of the library was Axel Drolsum.
In 1989, the national library was founded, which only in 1998 took over the traditional functions of the national library. In the same year, the university library moved to a new building - George Svedrup's House, located on the new campus.
