Pyotr Filippovich Shcheglov (circa 1825 , Tula province - September 6, 1896 , St. Petersburg ) - archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church, rector of the Olonets Theological Seminary , first chairman of the Alexander Svirsky Orthodox Brotherhood, master of theology .

Biography
Born in the Tula province in the family of a priest. After graduating from the Tula Theological Seminary , he entered the Moscow Theological Academy , after which in 1853 he was sent as a teacher to the Olonets Theological Seminary, in which he first taught civil history, bibliography of schism, German language and moral theology, after being appointed secretary of the seminary board, he began to teach literature and Greek.
In 1865 he was ordained a priest, and was appointed inspector of the seminary.
Since 1871 - rector , archpriest , teacher of basic theology, the scripture of the New Testament. [one]
The first chairman of the main council and founding member of the Orthodox Church fraternity of the Holy Monk Alexander Svirsky the miracle worker since 1892. [2] .
He was a member of many institutions of the Olonets province . Full member of the Olonets Provincial Statistics Committee, Chairman of the Council of the Olonets Diocesan School of Women , member of the Olonets Local Government of the Russian Red Cross Society, Petrozavodsk Charity Society, District Board of the Rescue Society on the Waters, Committee of the Petrozavodsk Alekseevsk Public Library [3] .
In 1894, he retired to visit the Holy Land, traveled to New Athos, then fell ill and returned to St. Petersburg, where he died in 1896 from “brain paralysis” [4] . He was buried at Volkovsky cemetery .
In memory of Archpriest P. F. Shcheglov, a scholarship of his name was approved for the pupils of the Olonets Theological Seminary [5] .
