The total construction cost of the stadium was NOK 160 million. Color Line is the first top-level stadium in Norway to use artificial turf. By the opening of the stadium, the Norwegian businessman Olav Niels Sundé presented him with a statue of a football player installed at the entrance. Although Sunde denied this, the statue bore an obvious resemblance to former Alesund player Jon Arne Riise .
Since 2009, the Fortune Aalesund women's football team has been conducting their home matches at Color Line.
