Content
Biography
Born in 1916 in the village of Solomonovka [1] in a peasant family. Russian. He graduated from 8 classes. He worked as a loader at the Kirov faience factory. In 1937-1939 he served in the Red Army .
World War II
In 1941, he was again drafted into the Red Army by the Kirov RVC of the Smolensk region. Since September 1941 - at the front.
The company commander, Captain Shubin, distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of Right-Bank Ukraine . In the battle for the city of Cherkasy in the area of the Kirillovka farm, the enemy attacked the area defended by the Shubin company for 3 days. When the enemy managed to get close to the company, Shubin raised the company in a counterattack, putting the enemy to flight. In this battle, Shubin's company destroyed 4 medium tanks and up to 200 enemy soldiers and officers. In a battle near the city of Iasi on April 5, 1944, Shubin's company repelled 9 counterattacks by large infantry forces and enemy tanks. At critical moments of the battle, Shubin more than once raised fighters to the attack. In this battle, he was seriously injured. Having taken the brunt of the attack, Shubin's company allowed infantry units without ammunition to leave the encirclement, while maintaining manpower. In offensive battles, the Shubin company destroyed 13 tanks, 7 armored personnel carriers, 6 guns of various calibers, 17 machine guns and up to 600 enemy soldiers and officers [2] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 13, 1944, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and their courage and heroism, Captain Andrei Sergeyevich Shubin was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [3 ] .
August 21, 1944 in a battle near the city of Iasi (Romania), Shubin was seriously wounded, died of wounds [4] .
