Geographical position
The village of Kuznetsovo is located south of Kozmodemyansk , 4 km from the road connecting Kozmodemyansk with the Volga federal highway, and 27 km from the regional center. The distance to the Volga coast is about 7 km.
History
According to historical documents, the village was mentioned for the first time in 1717 as Apsat Pelyak Kuznetsovskaya as part of Akazina hundreds. The Mari name of the village comes from the name of one of the founders and the word “dive” - field.
The village was located sequentially in different volosts of the Kozmodemyansk district of the Kazan province , and in 1921 the center of the Kuznetsovsky district of the Kozmodemyansk canton. Since 1931, the village has been the center of the Kuznetsovsky district, subsequently a rural settlement.
Population
According to the 2001 census, 363 people lived in the village. There were 85 courtyards.
The main occupation of the population is agriculture. Some of the residents work in the SEC "Kuznetsovsky", some on personal farmsteads or in other households.
