Geographical position

Usola village is located south of Kozmodemyansk , 3 km from the road connecting Kozmodemyansk with the Volga federal highway, and 14 km from the regional center. The distance to the Volga coast is about 4 km.

History

For the first time, the village of Usola was mentioned in 1881 as a Zakharkin settlement, which speaks of the founder of the village. The very Mari name of the village of Usola translates as a new village . It was founded by fire victims from the village of Esyanovo .

In the late XIX - early XX centuries Vilovrazh volost Kozmodemyanskogo county of Kazan province .

In 1883, a wooden church and an elementary school were built in Usol, in connection with which the village received the status of a village.

After the revolution in 1921, the village became the center of the Usolinsky district of the Kozmodemyansky canton, and in 1931 - the center of the Usolinsky village council.

In 1930, the Smychka collective farm was organized in the village, after merging with other collective farms it became known as the Krasnoye Sormovo collective farm, and in the post-war years it was transformed into a V. I. Lenin collective farm.

According to the 2001 census, 265 people lived in the village. There were 88 yards, 5 of which are empty.
